Royal Botanic Stroll

Exams are over as I already said in the previous post, now, only a few of us are left in Melbourne. Today, i had an interesting photo walk together with Wei Men & Rachel at the royal botanic gardens. :) It was nice but tiring. I haven’t been taking photos for quite sometime already.

Here are a few pictures that were taken during the photo walk..

The Aftermath

Exams are finally over. And my 1st semester for the year 2009 is officially over as well. Haven’t been updating due to the workload and laziness, laziness is more of the main factor. The exams i would say i’ve done only averagely well, not too good. Especially in the math paper today. I panicked, had my brain jammed, and couldn’t even remember how to do a simple question properly. I even had a wrong look at the time which made me even more anxious. Ah. Nothing can be done now anyway. So, don’t think about it. And i am feeling so bored right now!

There’s now a one month holidays for us students. The pandemic swine flu has worsen day by day in Melbourne upon its arrival in Australia. Most of the people are going back, say, to avoid the cold winter and the flu. Some had doubts to go back as statistics show that most of them got the sickness on the plane, however, the urge to meet up with their families could not stop them, a simple respiratory mask will do the job. I hope everyone of them gets home safely and will have a good time back home.

Me? Nah, i will still be in Melbourne. I will be going around taking photos, photo shoots, buck up my weak subjects (hopefully) and no doubts, i am looking forward towards my trip to Sydney. It’s advised not to travel within this pandemic period, but the reservations were already done before the flu landed in Australia. Woohoo, travelling only with the help of a map, Wei Men & I are sure going to have fun.

Nothing much happened last few weeks, but i had a good photo shoot with Penne & Michael! She wants pretty pictures of her and the bf, so why not?

All pictures were taken with the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 with the SB600 speedlight triggered wirelessly.

Farewell

After a long hectic Thursday afternoon, i finally got home for a short rest. shortly after the rest, I had to attend a dinner with an old friend, my primary school friend who came all the way from Canada to visit Melbourne. Joshua was never in my class though. lol. He called up a few of my primary friends as well as several high school friends for dinner.

Taken off Joshua’s facebook.

After the dinner, it’s my cousin’s farewell party. She’s leaving Melbourne back to Malaysia for good. So she invited several of her friends for a drink in a bar off Collins Street. I was there just to take photos for her as i am not that into drinking. So, you don’t see much of me in the pictures. In fact none. lol :)

The ambience of the bar is really pretty, soft and comforting. It has very unique decorations too. With bird cages hanging in the middle of the bar, Thai and Burmese statues along the hallway where there are individual columns for drinking. It gives a very ancient Asia feel. BUT, i nearly couldn’t get into the bar, i was TOO CASUAL according to the bouncer, men are suppose to dress in shirts and leather shoes. I was in a white shirt but with sneakers and jeans, had to plead him to let me go. lol

It’s pretty and yet photography is allowed. But the ceiling was black in colour and the walls were in dark colours too. That made bounce-flashing impossible. Pictures were pretty flat.

This is a very blur picture, even at high ISO speed. Too dark.
